Welcome to Cadu, Cafe an der Uni, a vibrant little gem nestled in the heart of Munich, exactly across from the university on Ludwigstraße 24. This is more than just a cafe; it’s a gathering place for students, locals, and travelers alike, where the atmosphere radiates warmth and sociability.

Upon entering, you’re greeted by a charming ambience that perfectly balances casual and cozy, making it an ideal spot for catching up with friends or enjoying some alone time with a book. The playful vibe is palpable, not just from the decor, but also from the array of cheerful patrons — a mixture of students and families enjoying their time together. The outdoor seating option adds to its allure, providing the perfect backdrop for sipping coffee on a sunlit day.

The menu is packed with delightful options that cater to a variety of tastes. While Cadu is known for its hearty pizzas and flavorful vegetarian dishes, such as their beloved vegetarian pizzas highlighted by a loyal customer who shared, “I’ve been here thrice already and would love to go back,” you can also explore a range of simpler fare like burgers and refreshing cocktails. As one visitor astutely pointed out, the sides—especially the potatoes—are exceptional and can elevate any meal. Each dish is crafted with care, ensuring that flavor is never compromised. Reviewers, such as Tomas Ridikas, mention the “simple food” and “good beer”, both of which are crowd-pleasers in this bustling cafe setting.

However, what truly makes Cadu stand out is the dedicated and friendly service. Despite occasional waits during busy hours, guests like Azul Lopez appreciate the patience and kindness of the staff, noting that the wait was worth it for the exquisite desserts. The attentive service by staff members like Maria, who is fluent in English, ensures that non-German speaking tourists feel right at home. Scott Besco praised his experience, saying, “Maria our server was wonderful, spoke great English to assist us in our order,” which mirrors the collective sentiment that the staff genuinely cares about their customers’ satisfaction.

Although some reviews pointed out minor issues like delays during peak hours, most customers remain unfazed, proving that the overall experience far outweighs the little inconveniences. Conhas Thakkar humorously noted their unique menu item names, enhancing the light-hearted vibe of the cafe. It's these little touches and genuine hospitality that keep patrons coming back.

In a city rich with cafe culture, Cadu, Cafe an der Uni holds its ground as a top contender, striking a harmonious balance between quality food, pleasant surroundings, and excellent service. Whether you’re a student seeking a quick coffee break or a traveler wanting to taste local flavors, this cafe has something to offer everyone. So, grab your friends and immerse yourself in the cheerful atmosphere of Cadu—where fantastic food and great company await!

We just got in for coffee and dessert. Even though it took a little long for the waiter to bring our order it was definitely worth it and she was very kind. We will come back.

Convenient location. Had the steak and it was okay, the side of potatoes were Incredible though. Not the best steak I’ve ever had but for that price you definitely can’t complain, especially taking into consideration how big it was. Only have a bad pic because I couldn’t wait to eat it, but it was great. Went on Sunday so it was pretty crowded and the service was busy, but I can’t find any reason to complain :) I promise the actual portion was way bigger than what I managed to capture during my hunger

Cadu, Cafe an der Uni - located across from the university, we were visiting from Canada and staying down the street. Maria our server was wonderful, spoke great english to assist us in our order, the pizza and beer were great! You can sit outside on a nice day. Thanks to Maria for spending a little extra time during a very busy restaurant shift!

Food was tasty Had to wait for a while for our order to come, but it was full so we didn‘t expect it to arrive fast anyways. Atmosphere - none really. And the toilet was clogged and smelled… But a decent sized pizza for the pricing though And a LOT of options on the menu ↕ But, sadly, no iced coffee in the evening :(

It’s a damn good cafe near odeanplatz. The food is quite good and the cocktails are better!! They use quite funny names in their menu card - which I truly loved. They have an indoor “outside seating” concept which I really liked. The overall ambience is very nice and the place gives you a great and satisfying feeling by the end of it. The cocktails are not that expensive and well made. I would recommend this highly if you are around
